    This is the LAST day for Link Crew applications! Please get them in to Ms. Garrett’s mailbox by TODAY-Friday, April 28th so that you can participate in the Link Crew tryouts on May 25th and be part of the Link Crew program next year!  Get your applications in the main office, the counseling office, the library, or in the folder by the door of B-30. Please make sure you completely fill out the paper application and the online application before turning everything in.


    Hey FHS Students help fundraise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Bring change or cash to donate and help save lives!  The fundraiser ends TODAY- Friday, April 28th—bring donations to Mr. Appell’s Class Room C-53 or to the box in the Main Office.

    Attn:  SENIORS-Prom tickets are NOW on sale and being sold thru Friday, May 12th.  Get an early-bird discount if you purchase tickets TODAY-$30.00 per ticket.  Prices will go up to $35.00 per TICKET next week.  The Prom is Saturday, May 13th, 2017 from 8-11pm and will be held at the Elysian Ballroom (918 SW Yamhill Street).  The theme is “The Grammy’s”.  Guest passes for NON-FHS students are in the MAIN OFFICE and MUST be completed and turned into Jill in the Main Office by TUESDAY, MAY 9th.  The Prom is for SENIORS ONLY, unless invited by a senior.


    If you are a Senior and haven’t signed your 60 Day Rule, please come see Jill in the Main Office ASAP.


    AP TESTING starts MONDAY--AP testing is happening at a variety of sites this year.  The district has created a helpful guide to getting to the test sites.  Please review it before test day and see your ASP mentor, your AP teacher, or Jill in the main office with questions about getting to your test site.


    ASP Seniors: Final project for ASP is due on THIS MONDAY- May 1st. We cannot take late papers. Get yours in early to avoid missing the deadline. No on-time paper, no stole. 

    May Fete Knighting forms are here!  The reason why we knight staff and seniors is because we think they best represent Franklin through extra-curricular activities.  Grab a form and nominate who you think best represents Franklin!

    Get your Arts Alive tickets HERE.  The show is Friday, May 19th from 7:00-9:30pm in the FHS Auditorium.  Come enjoy dance, jazz, theater, vocal, music and more at the FHS Arts Alive… FRANKLIN 2016/17 TESTING DATES:  (Updated 12/5/16) Franklin will be offering a variety of testing during the spring of 2017.  The SBAC, or Smarter Balanced assessment, is a test given to students once in their junior year.  This test assesses math and language arts and provides students an opportunity to meet essential skills requirements for graduation.   SBAC data is also used by the ODE to describe school academic performance.  Opt out forms for the SBAC, ELPA, and OAKS tests are available here:   Paper opt out forms will also be sent home with all students in their home language by December 9th. Opt out forms can be submitted at the Franklin main office.  There is no deadline to submit opt out forms. 

    • SBAC Math Computer Adaptive (Approximate test time: 2 hours) MAY 15 - MAY 22 in math classes
    • AP Testing (Test time varies) – MAY 1-12 in sites across the district.  AP test dates/times. SBAC 2017: State Law requires that each Oregon school district notify families of their right to exempt (opt out) their child from the summative English language arts and/or math tests, including the Smarter Balanced and Extended Assessments.     STUDENTS and STAFF-If you are in a club or organization and wish to post signs around the school, this is a reminder to get APPROVAL from Mr. Dennis Joule BEFORE posting your signs-remember to allow 1-2 days for approval.  Please see Jill Register in the MAIN OFFICE, to submit your sign for approval PRIOR to posting.  ALL signs without approval will be taken down.  Also, it is the responsibility of each club/organization to REMOVE the signs after the event.  Let’s keep our school looking clean and tidy! 


    • Students-Help-out the Yearbook Team by downloading the app-“Replay It”.  Share YOUR photos with the yearbook staff all year long.  Share YOUR journey in the final days at Marshall Campus.     • Attn:  Students-Do NOT leave ANYTHING UNATTENDED in the Locker Rooms. ALWAYS use a locker and LOCK your belongings away.  ONLY use a strong Masterlock type combo.  Do NOT use the colored type locks—they are NOT secure.  Keep an eye open and report any strange behavior.
    • Students-those particularly eating in the halls on C-Floor-PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE pick up after yourself.  Don’t ruin the lunch experience for everyone because YOU can’t clean-up after yourselves.  Thank YOU for putting your left over food and wrappers, etc. in the garbage. 
    • Student REMINDER:  We have had some complaints from neighbors about our students leaving/throwing trash in the neighborhood and surrounding area.  It is IMPERATIVE that you pick up after yourself and use the GARBAGE CANS, or hold on to your items until you find one. This goes for the neighborhood, school grounds, the hallways, and the track and field.  Be respectful please and pick it up!  Thank YOU for your assistance!
    • Students:  Just a reminder that you can turn-in applications for Free/Reduced LUNCH anytime throughout the school year.  Applications are available on-line, or in the main office.  Please turn them in to the Cafeteria.  REMINDER: Please save your Free/Reduced Approval letter from Nutrition Services. This is the letter that you will need to receive reduced prices on SPORTS FEES, NIGHT SCHOOL, AP and other TESTING FEES, ETC.  The Cafeteria Staff is unable to give out the Eligibility forms at this time so you will need to call 503-916-3402 to get a replacement letter mailed to you.
    • STUDENTS-it is imperative that when you are driving on school grounds that you obey the speed limit of 10 mph and watch out for STUDENTS, CARS, BIKES, etc.  Please use EXTREME CAUTION when driving on school GROUNDS/CAMPUS.  You can and will be ticketed.
