Providence Medical Career Highlight Program
Providence has a variety of Career Highlight events that will take place throughout the year. The upcoming career days are rehabilitation services, surgical technologist, and emergency services. Portland Police Cadet Program Now Accepting Applications
Students in grades 10-12 who are interested in a career with the Portland Police can apply. This is a competitive program, so please apply as soon as possible.
The Police Cadet Program is designed to provide an introduction to law enforcement to young men and women who are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. To apply and for more information see Ms. Ashley or Ms. McMillan in Rm 213 or visit the Police Bureau Cadet Page.
Portland Fire & Rescue Explorer Program Now Accepting Applications
Portland Fire and Rescue is now accepting applications for the Fire and Rescue Program. The Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) Explorer Program provides the opportunity for young men and women, ages 16 to 20, to become familiar with career opportunities available in the fire service. Interested in science research and want to gain hands-on lab experience?
- Paid internship in a research lab with a Knight Cancer Institute mentor
- Weekly curriculum in math, statistics, essay writing and more
- Gain real-world research experience

Who should apply?
- Current sophomores and juniors from Oregon high schools, particularly
public school students in the Portland Metro area
- Students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in health sciences
- Must be 16 or older by June 18, 2018
- Students should have a 3.0 GPA or higher, have taken at least one science
class (preferably biology), have an interest in research

Portland Parks & Recreation – GRUNT Application (Greenspace Restoration & Urban Naturalist Team)
Apply by February 21st
Volunteer for 10 Saturdays for hands-on science, nature adventures and job skills training! Experience different types of green jobs including trail building, tree work, habitat restoration and environmental education. All successful graduates are GUARANTEED PAID SUMMER WORK and other job opportunities through age 25. In 2018, GRUNT meets every Saturday from March 17 - May 19. Graduates will work 8 weeks in the summer at a rate of $12/hour. Applications are available in the CCC.
