    Dear Ida B. Wells Community,

Over the past few weeks, there has been increasing media coverage of acts of Anti-Asian hate taking place in our city and around the nation. Violence and discrimination against Asian-Americans is not new in this country and has increased considerably during the Covid pandemic.  On Tuesday, we learned of the horrific murders of eight people, including six Asian-American women, in and around Atlanta, Georgia. These acts of violence and terror are deeply disturbing and are a call to action for all of us to stand against the bigotry that so many of our neighbors, friends, and classmates are experiencing.

One of our colleagues, created this Resource on how to combat Anti-Asian hate crimes and how to promote allyship.  Please take a look and share with students as you find opportunities to do so. I hope that through collective learning, awareness, and action we can prevent racism and violence in our school and our community.
