Meet Your Career CoordinatorHello! My Name is Raisa and I am the Career Coordinator at Roosevelt High School. I am here to help with all things career related. Whether you are looking for a job or an internship, creating a resume, preparing for an interview, or heading out to visit a workplace via "Career Days", I am here to assist you. Although most things are virtual this Fall, we will have plenty of opportunities to explore career pathways and plan for the future. During second semester, we hope to transition into a more hybrid model so we have more opportunities to do things in person. I also work closely with our Career Technical Education teachers. Together, we will create meaningful, trasnformative career learning experiences so students leave high school with better skills to thrive in the post-secondary world.A little about me. I became a part of the Roosevelt community in 2014, just a year after graduating college. I obtained by Bachelor degree in Communication with a a minor in Political Science and Conflict Resolution at Southern Oregon University, and I have been working in education since! I'm a big advocate for exploring post-secondary options that fits best for each unique student. College is wonderful, but may not be for everyone. I am here to guide students to explore and learn about the real world of careers before they leave high school. I am also an avid runner. I coached Cross Country at Roosevelt from 2015-2021 and Track & Field from 2016-present. I grew up in the Philippines and am bilingual in Tagalog and English. Currenty, I reside here in St. Johns and am very honored to be a part of this community. I look forward to working with students and families this year!
