• 2020 Bond Planning Ida B. Wells High School 

    2020 Bond Funds will be provided for Ida B. Wells High School Planning & Design in preparation for the future modernization or rebuild of that school.  These funds will provide a budget for comprehensive planning, design, and pre-construction planning, with the intent of requesting funding for construction in a future bond measure.  Efforts to secure funding for construction, and the potential timing of such funding, will be kept in consideration during planning and design, to ensure the most efficient and effective transition to future construction.  It is the intent of the 2020 Bond Program to hold for construction any funds that are not needed to complete comprehensive planning and design.  The Ida B. Wells High School Conceptual Master Plans, (then called Wilson High School) were completed during the 2017 Bond Program. These will be used as the starting point for the Ida B. Wells High School Modernization Comprehensive Plan.

    Project Timeline

    While the 2020 Bond Program does not include funding to complete construction for the Cleveland High School and Ida B. Wells High School modernization projects, these projects will move forward with comprehensive planning and design on a timeline to allow for their opening at the start of the 27-28 school year if construction funding is approved in a future bond.
