    Frequently Asked Questions

    • Where do I go to take my exams?

All Cleveland High School IB exams will take place at one of three venues: The Tiffany Center in SW Portland, Hinson Baptist Church in SE Portland or Cleveland High School. All subject exams take place over two days. We are working on securing buses to assist with transportation to the Tiffany Center. Please watch for updates in your email.  For additional information about exam locations, see the 2023 Exam Overview

Note: the Physics, Anthropology, Environmental Systems, Chemistry and all Language Acquisition exams take place at two different locations over two days. Please double check the location of your exams on the schedule.

    • What should I bring with me?

Be sure to bring two or more ballpoint pens (black or blue), an approved model calculator for math and science exams, and a clear, see-through water bottle. Review a complete list of what to bring and what not to bring in the 2023 Exam Overview

    • Am I excused from my classes during my exams?

Yes. You will be EXCUSED for the full day on the date of each of your scheduled exams - either AM or PM. However, you are encouraged to attend class whenever your exam schedule allows you to do so. Please be aware of each individual teacher’s plans for the classes you miss, and requirements, if any, for make-up work.

    • When will I know my results?

Your scores will be available at https://candidates.ibo.org on July 6th, 2023 anytime after 12 p.m. You will be emailed an individual Personal Code and PIN following exams to access your results after the conclusion of your exams. PLEASE save this information in a safe location. In the event that you lose your codes, please contact the IB Coordinator, Jennifer Wiandt, at jwiandt2@pps.net

    • How do I send my scores to my college?

IB Results for seniors will be forwarded to the college listed in Maia Learning for the purpose of obtaining credit or advanced placement. Make sure you update Maia with your college choice. If you are taking a gap year, you will need to order an IB transcript when you enroll in college. You must do this by using the form and process on the IB website at www.ibo.org and paying the required $17 fee. Keep your personal code and session number, as you will need these to order a transcript. We will forward IB results for juniors taking exams next year, when they are seniors. Please contact the IB Coordinator with questions.

    • Is it too late to withdraw from IB exams?

If you are still enrolled in your IB course, we strongly encourage you to stick with your plan to participate in exams. Unfortunately, students withdrawing after January 13, 2023 forfeit their payment of exam fees and must also reimburse the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) $25 for each subject withdrawal. Students accessing financial aid options or payment plans may owe additional fees, up to the full amount of $119/subject.
