Nora Brooks

Nora Brooks has taught in public education for 21 years, and before that she taught in Romania. She has taught at Ida B Wells for six years. Brooks teaches senior English (mostly creative writing) and ESL. She is a case manager for the school. She got her BA in English at University of Oregon and then traveled to Romania where she fell in love with teaching. Brooks got a TESOL MA from PSU. Before getting a MFA in writing with a concentration in poetry from the New School, she spent 15 years teaching, publishing poems, and writing short stories. Brooks is often amazed and surprised with her students' ideas. She has a son and 15 chickens, and is in the process of publishing a murder mystery.
