District Continuous Improvement Plan
Our mission as a public school district is clear: to provide all of our students with equitable access to an exceptional education. Just as important to the well-being and success of our students is how we go about accomplishing that mission. That is where our District Continuous Improvement Plan (DCIP) comes in.
The District Continuous Improvement Plan is our north star. Grounded in our Board Goals, it is our guide to ensuring that our students receive the kind of rigorous academic instruction and individualized support they need to thrive. It also serves as a strategic blueprint for educators, district leadership, and administrative teams to follow as we work together toward a brighter future for our school communities.
The plan lays out a set of strategies for achieving the following four goals:
- Raising overall good attendance rates by 15%, with a 24% increase for focal groups to reduce disproportionate gaps.
- Improving PK-12 literacy
- Boosting PK-12 math proficiency
- Ensuring that all 9th grade students are on track to graduate on time
Our District Continuous Improvement Plan honors our past by drawing on the data-backed and student-centered approaches of PPS Reimagined and our graduate portrait while charting a clear and ambitious path forward.
This systemic work, utilizing high-quality curriculum and job-embedded professional learning, is how PPS delivers on the promise of a more equitable future for all students.
