Center for Family and Adolescent Research

The Center for Family and Adolescent Research is a branch of the Oregon Research Institute, a non-profit organization in Eugene with a 50-year history of conducting health and social science research.  Clients who receive services at the center participate in outpatient therapy sessions free of charge. Clients also contribute to the Center's research efforts by participating in pretreatment and follow-up assessments, for which they are compensated monetarily.

Grief

The Dougy Center provides support and resources for teens and families dealing with loss. Services are provided free of charge.

The Adolescent Brain

American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychology Facts for Families  provides up-to-date information on issues that affect teens and their families. For help addressing common concerns family may have such as difficulty coping, sleep issues, drug and alcohol use, problems getting along with family or friends, search the AACAP website for advice and information.

Alcohol/Drug Treatment

PPS provides assessment and treatment services at no cost for students who may be struggling with drug and alcohol issues. PPS Insight Classes are available for students who have violated PPS drug and alcohol policies.

Dealing with Alcohol Use of Others

Al-Anon/Alateen provides support and encouragement for teens who are affected by someone else's drinking.

Mental Health

The Early Assessment and Support Alliance (EASA) identifies young people who are experiencing psychosis and provides information and support.
