CBRC - Community Budget Review Committee
The CBRC is Currently Recruiting If you are interested in evaluating the Superintendent's Proposed Budget, reviewing Local Option Levy expenditures, and advising the PPS Board of Directors, we invite you to apply. Members serve three-year terms (one-year for students) and generally meet virtually once a month from October through June. The deadline to apply is September 27.
About CBRC
The Community Budget Review Committee (CBRC) reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations to the PPS Board of Directors regarding the Superintendent's Proposed Budget and any other budgetary issues the CBRC or the Board identify. The CBRC also reviews the allocation and expenditure of Local Option Levy funds.
The committee is typically composed of eight to thirteen volunteer members appointed by the Board to three-year terms. The Board appoints student members to one-year terms. CBRC is not currently recruiting new members. The next application window will be from August through September 2026.
The CBRC generally meets monthly during budget development season, November through June, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. CBRC meetings often take place virtually. Meetings may be viewed by the public; under the provision of ORS 192.670 all meetings will be live-streamed.
To provide public comment during a CBRC meeting, contact Cheryl Pitman at cpitman@pps.net prior to the meeting date. Written public comment can be emailed prior to the meeting.
