Custodial Civil Service Board

The Portland Custodians’ Civil Service Board was established on August 1st, 1937 following the passage of the Custodians’ Civil Service Bill (SB 260) by the Oregon Legislature and was signed into law by then Governor Charles H. Martin on March 10th, 1937. The CCSB is an independent entity created under this law and is responsible for the judicial oversight of the application and administration of the Custodians’ Civil Service Law (ORS 242.310 to 242.640 and ORS 242.990) in the Portland Public School District. Board Commissioners are appointed by the PPS Board of Education for a term of six years.
