Lottery and Transfer Information

2026-27 Hardship Petition (Grades 6 - 12 only)

PPS families use the hardship petition process to request a transfer out of a child’s current/assigned PPS school and into a different PPS school. See the Petition Process Overview page to learn more about the transfer process. 

The transfer application for incoming grades 6 -12 is available through ParentVUE. Instructions to create, activate or log into ParentVUE are located at www.pps.net/parentvue. The transfer application for incoming Kindergarten to 5th grade students will be available in the Spring. See the K-5 Explore Your Options page for exact dates.

Due to limited space, wait lists are closed at most schools for the remainder of the school year. Individual waitlist updates were sent to families in early-October. If you did not receive a waitlist update, please email enrollment-office@pps.net.

If you are considering a mid-year transfer, please start by contacting your student’s current counselor or school administrator. Enrollment and Transfer will not process mid-year transfer requests for current students without a referral from their school. Petition Process Overview

Transfers across district lines require permission from both districts.

The PPS School Board voted on the 2025-26 Inter-district Transfer resolution on April 15, 2025. Details can be found in Board Resolution 7090. Both the standard and hardship Inter-District Transfer Applications are available upon request via email at enrollment-office@pps.net or call 503-916-3205.
