Lottery and Transfer Information

Transfers across district lines require permission from both districts.

The PPS School Board voted on the 2026-27 Inter-district Transfer resolution on March 31, 2026. Details can be found in Board Resolution 7283. If you do not qualify for the standard Inter-district Transfer, reach out to enrollment-office@pps.net to request a Hardship/Emergency Inter-district Transfer application.

For districts with May 1 deadlines, applications for a standard release received by April 24, 2026 will receive responses by April 30, 2026.

For districts with May 31 deadlines, applications for a standard release received by May 20, 2026 will receive responses by May 29, 2026

Most focus options and Dual Language Programs have filled their Grade 6–12 seats.

Use the Grade 1–12 Lottery Transfer 2026-27 application in ParentVUE to join a waitlist. Please enter your reason for requesting the transfer in the SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES field.

Dual Language Wait List placement is only for Native Speakers or students with prior DLI experience. Placement may require a language proficiency assessment. See the Lottery Logic and Wait List FAQs for details.

2026-27 Hardship Petition

PPS families use the hardship petition process to request a transfer out of a child’s current/assigned PPS school and into a different PPS school. See the Petition Process Overview page to learn more about the transfer process. 

The transfer application is available through ParentVUE. Instructions to create, activate or log into ParentVUE are located at www.pps.net/parentvue.
