All-Star Awards

 
The All Star Awards celebrate students across Portland Public Schools whose leadership, courage, brilliance, and character uplift their school communities. Coordinated by the Office of Family & Community Engagement (FACE), this recognition honors students whose lived experiences, identities, and contributions reflect the richness and diversity of our district.
 
Nominations
 

To nominate a student, please use this form. Nominations are open from Tuesday, January 20, 2026 to Tuesday, February 17. Please submit 1 nomination per student even if the student may qualify for multiple awards. Students will be honored at an awards ceremony at McDaniel High School on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

 
Anyone may nominate a student. Educators, staff, families, community members, and peers are all encouraged to lift up students whose impact deserves to be celebrated.
 
Award Categories
Each award honors students whose leadership, resilience, and contributions shine in distinct and meaningful ways, uplifting their communities and enriching our shared school experience.
 
  • Native Pride: Honors Native and Indigenous students who demonstrate leadership grounded in cultural pride, resilience, and responsibility to community. This award recognizes students who honor their traditions and identity while contributing meaningfully to their schools through advocacy, wisdom, and care for others.
  • Sí Se Puede: Recognizes students of Latinx heritage whose perseverance, courage, and advocacy embody the spirit of Sí Se Puede. This award celebrates students who uplift others, pursue their goals with determination, and contribute to their school and community through leadership, service, and collective strength.
  • Young, Gifted and Black Diaspora: Celebrates Black students whose excellence, creativity, and leadership reflect brilliance in action. This award honors students who demonstrate integrity, resilience, and a commitment to justice, using their gifts to uplift their communities and inspire positive change.
  • Asian American Excellence: Honors Asian American students whose leadership, service, and cultural contributions strengthen their schools and communities. This award recognizes students who affirm identity and belonging, elevate representation, and lead with purpose, empathy, and pride.
  • Pacific Pride: Celebrates Pacific Islander students whose leadership, cultural knowledge, and community-mindedness enrich their school environments. This award honors students who lead with humility, resilience, and pride, uplifting their communities while honoring ancestral connections and collective values.
  • New Portlanders: Recognizes students who are newcomers to Portland, including immigrant and refugee students, whose courage, adaptability, and determination inspire their school communities. This award honors students who navigate new environments with resilience, contribute their voices and experiences, and help build inclusive and welcoming school communities.
  • Community Champions: Recognizes students of any background that demonstrate leafership through their ability to advocate for equity, challange discrimination and tacle systematic inequalities to imprve the quality of life for historically marginalized people within their school communities.
 
Across all categories, nominations should highlight students whose leadership, accomplishments, courage, character, integrity, justice-centered action, and brilliance make a meaningful impact.

All honorees will be celebrated at the All-Star Awards Banquet:

This evening will bring together students, families, educators, and community members for one of PPS’s most joyful and inclusive celebrations of student excellence.
