TriMet Transit Pass Program

Portland Public Schools offers all employees transit passes through TriMet's electronic fare system, Hop Fastpass. This transportation deduction program allows you to purchase a monthly TriMet transit pass on a pre-tax basis through payroll deductions. You can ride any combination of buses, MAX Light Rail, WES Commuter Rail and Portland Streetcar to complete your trip. In addition, this pass is valid on evenings and weekends.  For more information on the Hop Fastpass, visit myhopcard.com or call 1-844-694-6722.  Your Hop Fastpass election and payroll deduction will remain active until you cancel or until the TriMet Pass deduction is not deducted from your paycheck. 

IMPORTANT: IRS rules only allow one pre-tax transit deduction per paycheck. If you are paid over 10 months, you will not receive a pass for July or August. Your individual tax savings will depend on your income tax bracket, as well as federal and state income tax rates. Please consult with a tax professional to determine your individual tax impact.

 

To enroll in the TriMet Transit Pass Program, or cancel your pass, please do the following:

  1. Complete the TriMet Transit Pass Salary Reduction Agreement form.


  2. Submit your completed form to benefits@pps.net.


Note for submitting fillable PDF form: You will need to save a copy of the enrollment form PDF to your desktop first before filling in your information. Also, be sure to save your PDF file and changes before submitting, otherwise any entry you made could be lost when submitting your form.
