New To Portland Oregon

New To Portland Oregon

Our beautiful urban and rural space, the peaceful nature of our area and citizens' involvement make Portland a caring and friendly community. To assist our newly hired Employees with becoming acquainted with City of Portland, we have created the Portland Public Schools Community Resource Guide. This guide is a resource that is intended to provide information on communities, organizations and services available in the greater Portland area. You will find information on community events, recreational activities, parks, and much more in the greater Portland area. If there is anything that we can do to assist you with your transition, please be sure to contact the Human Resources Department. Welcome again to Portland Public Schools and the community.

Teachers in Oregon are licensed through the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC). The Initial Teaching License is the first stage Oregon teaching license issued to candidates who were prepared in another state. This license is valid for full time and substitute teaching; a separate Substitute Teaching License is NOT required. Please visit the TSPC website for more information or for any questions about Oregon licensure rules.
