Guiding Principles

These guiding principles have been updated to incorporate the core priorities of the District Continuous Improvement Plan (DCIP)—specifically Instructional Clarity, Standards-Aligned Engagement, and Equity in Access and Expectations.

  1. Advancing Equitable Access and Personalized Learning
Learning Technologies will leverage digital resources and infrastructure to provide equitable access to technology for all students, staff, and the PPS community. This includes designing learning paths that are highly individualized to address the unique needs and interests of all students, thereby ensuring every student, especially focal students, can thrive and realize the district's vision of the Graduate Portrait.
  2. Ensuring Instructional Clarity and Standards-Aligned Engagement
Learning Technologies will focus on supporting the consistent application of Instructional Clarity and Standards-Aligned Engagement, which are high-leverage strategies. Technology integration efforts will ensure that learning targets and success criteria are clearly articulated to students and that students successfully engage in rigorous, grade-level, and standards-aligned tasks.
  3. Fostering Collaborative Innovation and Systemic Coherence
Learning Technologies will promote a culture of innovation and collaboration, building learning ecosystems where technology supports diverse perspectives and enhances creativity. This includes ensuring instructional coherence across classrooms and grade levels. Learning Technologies also focuses on advancing emerging technologies, such as leading the development and sustained implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) guidance and policy, ensuring that innovation is rooted in equity and responsibility.
