PPS parents/guardians (or students over 18) may request to opt out of curriculum or learning activities where necessary to accommodate a sincerely held religious belief or a disability. Curriculum overviews for adopted resources in each core content area (PK-5, 6-8, and 9-12 grades) can be found on the PK-12 Core Academics websites. Your classroom teacher(s) and principal can share more detailed information as needed about specific units and lessons.
To request an opt-out, please complete the Curriculum Opt-Out Form. The form requires information regarding the basis for the request and suggested alternative learning activities. Requests take a minimum of 14 business days to process, so please submit your form well in advance of the scheduled curriculum. Note that completing the form does not guarantee the request will be granted. If you have questions about the process, please contact your school principal.
