Teacher Candidates will experience joyful, authentic, continuously supported field experiences that prepare them to teach Grade-Level Standards-Aligned (GLSA) instruction in PPS classrooms.

Special Education Endorsement

This program provides teachers with the coursework for knowledge and pedagogy that aligns with the needs of students who receive Special Education services.

PSU will tailor the programming to PPS teacher and student needs
The program is a post-bachelor or post-master license with 39 credit hours of study
Credits for this endorsement may be applied to a master's degree (other credits are required and paid separately).

PPS/PSU ESOL/Bilingual Endorsement Cohort

The ESOL/Bilingual Endorsement will prepare teachers to teach integrated language development to multilingual students

PSU will tailor the programming to PPS teacher and student needs
The program is a post-bachelor or post-master license with 19 credit hours of study plus a 90-hour supervised practicum
Credits for this endorsement may be applied to a master's degree (other credits are required and paid separately).

PPS/UoP Reading Endorsement Cohort

The reading intervention endorsement provides teachers with the coursework necessary to acquire knowledge that aligns with the International Literacy Association (ILA) standards and the School of Education's Shared Values. In addition to knowledge-based coursework, candidates engage in clinical activities across their program to advance the ability to diagnose and remediate literacy learning problems in diverse instructional settings and provide literacy leadership in a school. The reading intervention endorsement is state (TSPC) and nationally accredited (CAEP).

Program Highlights:

UoP would match the metro rate of PSU for this cohort
They would also be able to tailor the programming to our PPS-adopted resources for reading intervention and core instruction
The program is a post-bachelor's or post-master's license with 18 credit hours of study
There could be the option of coupling this endorsement with a master's degree (other credits required and paid separately).

Induction Programs

Through our PPS Educator Induction Program New to the Profession (1st, 2nd, & 3rd Year) Educators receive peer-to-peer, non-evaluative instructional coaching through providing rigorous, high quality academic learning experiences that are inclusive and joyful. We disrupt racial inequities to create vibrant environments for every student to demonstrate excellence. Our goals include building teacher capacity through a continuous, coherent, content-based and collaborative system of professional learning in order to disrupt the predictability of learning outcomes for our most persistently underserved students.

Educators of Color Peer Mentoring Program

Teacher Mentor

The PPS Mentor Program supports educators who are new to the profession to grow data driven equitable instructional practices. We do this by connecting beliefs, feelings, actions, knowledge, and skills through reflective coaching cycles. These cycles are focused on disrupting disparity, disproportionality, and predictability of student outcomes and learning experiences for our Black, Native, LGBTQIA, and Multi-Language Learners.

Educators of Color Peer Mentoring Program

The purpose of our Educators of Color Peer Support Mentoring Program is to build supportive communities for educators of color - both in and across schools with the goal of building long-lasting supportive relationships including helping our incoming EoC find links in our community that they can rely on to really understand their unique struggles, provide a safe space to share, and have a veteran teacher who can help them navigate PPS.
