Background Information
PPS solicited students, parents, staff and community that are reflective of our communities of color, and represent the diversity and intersectionality of identities throughout our community. Membership will be student-centered and members are interested in Racial Equity and Social Justice work, personal and professional growth, and integrating these interests to fulfill PPS mission. Members are good communicators and have the ability to influence and lead. Strong community connection, accountability to community.
Members were selected and as a member of this committee, they will bring a much-needed perspective to the work we do at Portland Public Schools. Their contributions will help the Superintendent, School Board, and our district move forward together in our aspirations to support students, close opportunity gaps, and live into our values of racial equity. The District is grateful that you are willing to share your time and talents.
