Schools Student Voice Advisory Council (SVAC)

The Student Voice Advisory Council’s (SVAC) mission is to center and uplift middle school student voices, strengthen student involvement, and build collaborative connections between PPS students, schools, families, and district leadership. SVAC is made up of 7th and 8th grade students from across PPS who meet regularly throughout the school year to share their experiences and provide input on issues impacting their school communities.
FACE staff coordinate and support SVAC, ensuring students have a structured, welcoming, and equitable environment in which to engage, learn leadership skills, and contribute meaningfully to district conversations.
The core functions of SVAC include:
- Elevate and leverage middle school student input on school and district issues to PPS leadership.
- Incorporate student perspectives into FACE initiatives, district priorities, and engagement planning.
- Prepare students for high school leadership opportunities, including the District Student Council (DSC).
- Strengthen the bridge between home, school, and community by centering authentic student voices.
