About Student Services

Student Services partners with school teams to help students feel safe, supported, and connected at school. We offer consultation, specialized programs, and community partnerships to help schools identify and respond to student needs, connect students and families with appropriate supports, and remove barriers to learning.

How We Support Students

Student Services works alongside school teams to support students across several interconnected areas of service. Our work helps schools respond to student needs, strengthen well-being and safety, and connect students and families with appropriate supports.

Student Safety & Support

Support school teams in recognizing, assessing, and responding to concerns about student safety and well-being. This includes concerning or high-risk behavior, risk of self-harm, sexualized behavior, safety planning, and support following a crisis or significant event.

School-Based Student Support

Supporting school counselors, social workers, psychologists, QMHPs, and other student service professionals in addressing students’ behavioral, social-emotional, mental health, and physical health needs. These professionals work as part of school teams to identify needs, connect students with appropriate supports, and help remove barriers to learning.

Mental Health & Wellness

Partnering with community mental health agencies to expand access to mental health services and supports for students. Student Services helps school teams navigate multi-agency systems, coordinate with community providers, and supports partnerships that bring mental health services into schools when available.

School Health Services

Coordinating school health services that promote student health, well-being, and access to learning. This includes nursing and school health support, connections to School-Based Health Centers, and information and resources that help students and families access health services and care.

Relationships & Restorative Practices

Supporting schools in building strong relationships, fostering belonging, and creating restorative school communities. Restorative practices provide approaches for addressing conflict and harm, strengthening accountability, repairing relationships, and helping students reconnect with their school community.

Civil Rights & Student Protections

Supporting students, families, and schools in addressing concerns related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other civil rights protections. Student Services helps ensure concerns are addressed through appropriate district processes while promoting student rights, safety, and equitable access to education.

Substance Use Prevention & Support

Providing prevention, early intervention, and individualized support for students with concerns related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. Certified alcohol and drug counselors support students and families, provide education and intervention, and help connect students with additional treatment and community resources when needed.
