In-Lieu Payment Transportation Service
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide efficient and effective transportation solutions, the PPS Transportation Department would like to share information regarding our InLieu of Transportation reimbursement option for students currently using Type 10 vehicles (cabs).
Under this program, parents or guardians may choose to provide their own transportation to and from school in exchange for district reimbursement. For the 2026 calendar year, the reimbursement rate is $0.725 per mile, following the IRS standard.
Please note that this is an "all-or-nothing" service model. While special exceptions may exist for families currently using mixed modes of transport, choosing InLieu means the district will no longer provide a vehicle for your student. Should you need to return to district-provided transportation, a new request will be required, which carries a standard 14-day processing window.
