S.T.O.P.P.S. (Safety Training of Pupils in Portland Schools)
- STOPPS drills are conducted during both Fall and Spring.
- This will take place on a single day during their respective halves of the school year, as buses arrive to schools.
- This replaces the previous practice of spreading Fall drills over several weeks and promotes a more consistent and efficient process across the board.
Please Note: We have removed the distinction between SPED and GT STOPPS drills. This change reflects our commitment to inclusivity and ensures a unified approach to safety training for all students.
SY 25/26 Spring STOPPS drill for all regularly transported students is scheduled for Thursday, February 12th, 2026 (02/12/2026). Non-regularly transported students will have already had their required yearly instruction via the materials provided in the staff resources section of the STOPPS procedure during Fall.
Fall 2026 will be scheduled after we return from summer break.
You will need to take a moment to read the updated STOPPS procedure.
