S.T.O.P.P.S. (Safety Training of Pupils in Portland Schools)
- STOPPS drills are conducted during both Fall and Spring.
- This will take place on a single day during their respective halves of the school year, as buses arrive to schools.
- This replaces the previous practice of spreading Fall drills over several weeks and promotes a more consistent and efficient process across the board.
Please Note: We have removed the distinction between SPED and GT STOPPS drills. This change reflects our commitment to inclusivity and ensures a unified approach to safety training for all students.
SY 25/26 fall STOPPS drill for all riding students is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th, 2025 (09/10/2025). Non-riders will need their required yearly instruction via the materials provided in the staff resources section of the STOPPS procedure. This must be completed during Fall.
Spring 2026 will be scheduled after we return from winter break.
