S.T.O.P.P.S. (Safety Training of Pupils in Portland Schools)

• STOPPS drills are conducted during both Fall and Spring.
• This will take place on a single day during their respective halves of the school year, as buses arrive to schools.
• This replaces the previous practice of spreading Fall drills over several weeks and promotes a more consistent and efficient process across the board.

Please Note: We have removed the distinction between SPED and GT STOPPS drills. This change reflects our commitment to inclusivity and ensures a unified approach to safety training for all students.

SY 26/27 Fall STOPPS drill for all transported students is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 (09/09/2026). Non-regularly transported students will be required to have their yearly instruction via the materials provided in the staff resources section of the STOPPS procedure during the Fall drill.   

Spring 2027 will be scheduled after we return from winter break.
