"Let's Bottle That Energy!"
Check out the cool Portland Tribune article!!
WE DID IT!!!!!! Thanks again to all that contributed! Our bikes are here and the energy is flowing!
Our Donors Choose project was for 2 UpCycle bikes to be used by the whole school (grown-ups and kids!) and 5 solar battery packs for classroom use. The bikes aren't just any old bikes. They are stationary bikes made in the Portland area. When peddled, they generate energy which will then be sent into the grid, thereby saving us money on electricity. After all, we are an Oregon Premier Green School and we do live in Portland. We have now taken our GREENNESS to the next level! In the school project called "Let's Bottle That Energy!" we have the ability to create opportunities for our students to explore science, math and engineering in a unique way. You can learn more about our project at http://www.donorschoose.org/lisa.davidson
We earned matching funds from the Paul Allen Foundation for our project and the entire project was funded within 2 days! Wow! Many thanks to the great parents who have supported us and to Consolidated Community Credit Union for their generous donation!
