• Shadowing a Student at Lincoln High School

Families who are NEW to Lincoln High School and currently live within Lincoln’s attendance boundary are invited to spend a day with us to aid them in choosing their high school. These slots will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Due to the limited number of slots, we kindly ask only families seriously contemplating attending Lincoln vs a private school sign-up.

Students who shadow at Lincoln will be paired with Lincoln Ambassadors who will act as their guide for either a half-day or full-day. A half- day at Lincoln will consist of two 90 minute classes, while a full-day will consist of only four 90 minute classes.  Lincoln 6operates on a four class block schedule per day.  Please be aware, our students take eight classes and attend 4 classes per day on an alternating block schedule.  Thus, the classes your child will visit will be based on the Ambassador’s class schedule and may not include all core subjects such as English or Math.

To minimize disruptions to classes and existing students, student shadows are limited to15 per day on the following days:

    October 23

    November 13

    November 27

    December 4

    January 8

    February 5

To schedule a shadow day, please complete our Shadow Survey here. Please Note: Only a parent or guardian can arrange a Student Shadow.

In order to schedule a shadow day we MUST have a completed and signed Permission to Participate Form.  Students may bring a signed Permission to Participate Form with them on their scheduled shadow day or email them to jherbst@pps.net.  If we do not have a signed form with a parent’s signature, students will not be able to shadow.

If you need to cancel your shadow day, we kindly ask that you email Jennifer Herbst at jherbst@pps.net as soon as possible.

On your scheduled shadow day, visiting students should arrive at the IB Office located in the Counseling Center, no later than 8:00 a.m. but not earlier than 7:50 a.m.  If your child shadows for a half-day, classes end at 11:30 a.m., full-day ends at 3:20p.m.  Visiting students are asked to checkout with the IB Office before leaving for the day.  Visiting students will not be allowed to leave school grounds and should plan to bring a lunch, a water bottle and a snack.

A tour of Lincoln High School will be available for parents following Shadow Drop-Off.

Lincoln High School is an International Baccalaureate World School.  Information regarding IB can be found on our website under academics/IB and at www.ibo.org.
