*MADISON FAMILY HOUSE FIRE* February 16, 2020
One of our Madison families experienced a house fire. Please help them by making a contribution to enable them to replace their belongings.
ALGEBRA SUPPORT: Ms. Ackron:
Help me give my students supplies, such as dry erase markers, highlighters, tape, and color paper, that they need to be successful in their mathematics career.
Sign up for the Madison arts Fred Meyer’s Community Rewards Program!
ATHLETICS: Student Aid:
Many families struggle to cover the pay-to-play fees for their children to participate in sports at school. Please consider contributing to assist a family in need.
ATHLETICS: Team Contributions:
Teams depend on fundraising to offer team building activities and end-of-season celebrations. Coaches also rely on team accounts to provide team hoodies or warmups not provided as part of the student uniform. Please consider making a donation to our teams, or to the general Athletic Department fund. You may select any team and any amount to contribute.
AVID: Mrs. Koenig:
Help me give my students dividers, highlighters, sticky notes, and note-cards to be organized, successful students; and colored pencils, glue sticks, and markers to complete college and social justice projects.
Help me give my students notebooks for their interactive learning and the supplies (colored paper, glue and highlighters) to make them their own.
BOYS BASKETBALL: Coach Matthews:
Donations will allow us to provide funding necessary to create a great environment for our participants to experience success. We will use donations towards equipment, fees, and travel costs. Your support is vital to the success of our program.
CHEERLEADING: Coach Slaughter: Many of our students can not afford to buy their own uniforms; please help give them an opportunity to participate in a school sport. (all donations currently doubled!).
ELD 1-2 HISTORY CLASS: Ms. Kanoff:
Help me give my students books for sheltered history designed for English Language Developing 1-2 History students. Just Mercy and the other books on the list will help my students to ask questions and find answers about how to reform the American criminal justice system.
FIELD HOUSE: Athletics:
Raise the Roof! Madison alumni and community members have created a non-profit foundation to fundraise to build an all-sport field house and training center for our students. This facility is not included in the current remodel of the school. All donations made in the 4th quarter of 2019 will be matched by a generous donor up to $25,000, so double your donations today. Check their webpage for details and to make donations.
HIP HOP LITERATURE: Mr. Gardner:
Hip Hop Lit students at Madison High School have formed a group called The Remarks. We are raising money to travel to New York City and Rutgers University to participate in a Hip Hop Youth Research and Activism conference May 15th-20th. Students are presenting and performing at the conference and need financial support to get there. Follow the journey and check out their music on Instagram @the.remarks
LIBRARY: Ms. Sullivan:
Help me give my students nonfiction books so they can learn deeply about topics they are passionate about. This project specifically supports our very curious students who are looking to learn about the world around them and deepen their knowledge about topics they are passionate about for the I-Search research paper they write in their junior English classes.
LITERACY: Mr. Bennon:
My markers are dry - my lessons aren't. Help me give my students multi-color highlighters for the classroom so they can read deeply and visually recognize authors' writing strategies.
MadGrad (PTSA): to support our senior all-night party:
MadGrad is a drug-free, alcohol-free, chaperoned event for the graduates which follows directly after their commencement ceremony. Our seniors have worked hard to earn this achievement; of course they want to celebrate it, and we want to help them do it in a safe and memorable way!
PTSA: Parent Teacher Student Association:
The PTSA actively supports our staff and students throughout the year. You can support our efforts by shopping through Amazon Smile and selecting the "Madison High School PTSA" as your donation charity!
Theater: Heading to State!
For the first time in 30ish years, Madison HS Theatre has qualified for the State Acting Competition! Help us to get there & to complete our Theatre Travel Experiences of 2020. Our program represents students who traditionally do not receive a lot of financial support to participate in activities and events, so this opportunity is SO important to us.
