Hilary Woodard

Hilary Woodard was born and raised in England, where her love of books (and soccer!) started at an early age. The books she read inspired her curiosity about the world and led her to study science and to travel in search of adventure and knowledge. Her first adventure was to Alaska, where she lived in a cabin while enjoying cross-country skiing and earning an M.S. and Ph.D. in Geophysics. The following years included living and working in New Zealand and Switzerland, and for the past 6 years, Ms. Woodard and her family have lived in Portland, where they enjoy hiking, camping, playing ultimate frisbee, and going to Blazers games. After spending time volunteering in her children's schools, Ms. Woodard decided to go to PSU to earn her M.Ed, and has been working as a substitute in PPS classrooms and libraries for the past 3 years. She is excited to join the Wilson community and looks forward to meeting the students, their families, and her new colleagues - come to the library and say hi!
