Oregon BRAVO Youth Orchestras is a nonprofit inspired by El Sistema to improve the lives of children through intensive ensemble-based classical music instruction. BRAVO Rosa Parks is a tuition-free classical music program that serves nearly 200 students at Rosa Parks. The project components include: School day violin instruction for 30 minutes twice a week for all Kindergarten and 1st grade students. Daily after school string orchestra and chorus for approximately 60 students in grades 2-4 (10 hours a week). Regular performance opportunities in the school, in the surrounding neighborhood and in the wider Portland metro area. Black Violin - February 2016

We are so proud of our BRAVO Youth Orchestra! They have performed numerous concerts this year, but the most recent and exciting was the encore with Black Violin on February 24, 2016 at the Arlene Schnitzer. Thank you Black Violin, Chamber Music Northest and Portland 5 for making this a possibility for our BRAVO students. Please enjoy a video of their encore performance below.
