    Future You 2 Go Attendance and Participation

    • Future You 2 Go are PPS sponsored events, hosted by the PPS Office of Career & Technical Education.
    • Students’ participation and attendance is very important as these career awareness opportunities will expose them to a wide variety of careers and postsecondary options.
    • Students’ attendance will be tracked and reported to schools to excuse students for missing Office Hours, Applied Learning, or Small Group Instruction times.

    Portland Community College’s OMIC Training Center in Columbia County is scheduled to open in Fall of 2021. The center is part of the regional Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC) in Scappoose, which seeks to combine applied research and development and workforce training to serve the region’s advanced manufacturers and create economic mobility for area residents in the metals manufacturing industry.     Nancy is a training specialist with Vestas, the energy industry’s global partner on sustainable energy solutions. Vestas designs, manufactures, installs, and services wind turbines across the globe, and with +140 gigawatts of wind turbines in 85 countries, the company has installed more wind power than anyone else. Nancy will provide students with a close-up look inside a working wind turbine, and focus her remarks on the training and career tracks associated with manufacturing, installing, and servicing turbines around the world.
