Services
Summer Programs
PPS is pleased to offer a range of engaging learning opportunities for students in the summer.
Lunch/Meals
Nutrition Services is committed to creating healthy school environments that support life long wellness for students by increasing healthy choices and limiting access to minimally nutritious snacks and beverages.
Emergency and Security
PPS has clearly articulated protocols for responding to and communicating about school-based emergencies from student or staff health crises to fires or earthquakes to a school intruder. Mandated emergency drills and training, strong partnerships with local law enforcement and other government agencies, and a continuous improvement approach are interwoven to maintain the safety and security of our students and staff.
Conflict Resolution
PPS encourages families, where appropriate, to address school-based concerns first with the staff or principal. If an issue cannot be resolved at the school level, the District provides an order of escalation as well as other means of submitting questions, complaints, or concerns.
Athletics
The Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) has added to its thriving high school athletics program to include a Youth Sports Program in grades 6-8, building an articulated sports program across middle and high schools that provides all students with opportunities to explore and develop their athletic skills and build character through competition and teamwork.
Health
The mission of the Student Services Department is to partner with schools, families, and communities in supporting all students to value and meet high standards of learning, wellness and participation in a global society.

Title IX also importantly covers prevention of and response to incidents of sexual harassment and sexual assault.
