Young Gifted and Black award ceremony

Young, Gifted and Black celebrates an interrelated community of students from various backgrounds (e.g., racial, socioeconomic, religious, and cultural). This year marks the ninth time Portland Public Schools and the community will take time to recognize the success of our Black students.
Principals, teachers and other district staff are encouraged to nominate outstanding and deserving Black students. Nominations will be received from February 12 through February 28, 2018. On May 30, 2018 twenty-five students will be honored at the 9th Annual Young, Gifted and Black program held from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Blanchard Education Center (501 North Dixon Street).
Eligibility: Honors Black students of any origin in grades K-12.
