    Earth Day is Sunday, April 22. What can you do to take action? Well, it all starts with looking at your habits. They say that it takes about two weeks to change a habit, so by looking at what we do on a day-to-day basis, we can find many different ways to be more sustainable that don’t take much effort. For instance, if you leave the water on while brushing your teeth, try turning it off. When you do this, you save about 5 gallons of water!

  • Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall 2018 Verselandia!

    Come celebrate Portland’s creative youth during our sixth annual Verselandia! poetry slam. This city-wide event features students from Parkrose, Roosevelt, Metropolitan Learning Center, Benson, Lincoln, Gresham, Sam Barlow, Franklin, Madison, Wilson, Jefferson, Grant, and Cleveland high schools competing for poetic glory. Verselandia! is the Grand Slam for the winners from individual school slams hosted by public high school library media specialists.

  • Event will celebrate unique creation of Faubion campus

    The newly-built campus that Faubion PK-8 School shares with Concordia University is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between public and private entities. How the unique campus and community came together will be discussed and celebrated at “Design Week Portland 3 to PhD,” a talk-and-tour event at the Northeast Portland campus on Tuesday, April 17.
