• August 24th Letter to Families

    Dear Mustang Families,

We are almost ready to return to school together full time and we cannot wait to welcome all our students back to our schoolhouse together on September 1st! The past 18 months have taught us so much and has given us an opportunity to rethink the possibilities for our school community. One thing is for sure, we are committed to making all our students and families feel a sense of belonging at school. We want everyone to be here, be themselves, and know that George Middle School belongs to all of us

As we get ready to return to school on September 1st, here are some things you can expect in the coming weeks as we get ready:

Advisory Classes We learned that the best way to establish a sense of belonging for students is through small advisory classes. Advisory will be a place where students will learn about themselves, each other, and what it means to be a part of our school community. Students will spend a lot of time in the first two days of school in Advisory to learn about each other and all our school routines.

    Student Schedules

    • Student schedules will be live on ParentVue and StudentVue by August 31st

    • There will be lots of adults able to help direct students to their Advisory class on the first day of school.

    Student Supplies

    • On the first day of school, we will provide students with their supplies. Each George student will receive a backpack, a binder with dividers, pens, pencils, highlighters.

    • Students should bring a charged device to school everyday beginning on September 2nd.

    Student Arrival

    • Our staff is on duty when the doors open at 9:10 AM.

    • Students will be able to get breakfast and head directly to their Advisory class.

    Health and Safety

    • Masks will be required for all staff and students at all times except when eating, drinking, or playing a musical instrument.

    • All PPS schools are following Standard Operating Procedures to create a layered approach to keep our students and staff healthy.

    Meal Time

    • All George students receive a free breakfast and lunch each day.

    • Any food brought from home can be eaten only during lunch.

    • Students will eat lunch at cafeteria tables or outside under the covered area.

    Transportation

    • Fall Bus Route info is available here

    • If you are driving your child to George, please drop them off at the main office doors.
