    LETTER FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

    Dear Glencoe Families,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful time with family and friends over our two week break from school. It was great seeing everyone back on Wednesday morning. Teachers and students eased back into the week by reconnecting and reviewing expectations as we enter the New Year. Teachers will be wrapping up units and completing mid-year assessments in the next few weeks as our next grading period ends on January 18th. Report cards will be sent home with students on February 1st.

I hope to see many of you at our next PTA meeting, which is Tuesday, at 8:15 am in the cafeteria. Feel free to attend for coffee and general announcements from me and our PTA board.

    Warm Regards,

    Lori Clark

    Glencoe Principal

    TAG TESTING

TAG testing will begin in February, not January. We will send out dates as soon as we know.

    LIBRARY HELP

We'd like to ask some parent-volunteers to cover some of our new books in self-adhesive laminate. We do save money by buying paperbacks, but if we don't re-inforce them, they can really become unusable quickly. Several are series titles, and some are the slim, Beginning Reader types. With that in mind, if we could get a couple volunteers, this project could be knocked out shortly, so that the books can begin to be checked out. I could show you how, or there are plenty of YOUTUBE instructional videos on line, too. (How To Laminate a Paperback Book)

I always find that if someone likes to wrap a gift, they usually enjoy doing this! PLUS, it is an easy project for those who would like to help out the library, but cannot make it during the day- Check the books out, take 'em home and do it while binge-watching the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!!  : )

Please email me at dnewtonp@pps.net if you have an interest, and we can set up a time to go over what needs to be done. Thank you very much! Diane Newton-Prior

Thanks to everyone who brought in food for the veterans food drive last month. I boxed up 12 boxes of food that helped contribute to our veterans having a happy holiday season with food that was very much in need. Glencoe families ROCK!!
