    Dear PPS Families,

The 2021-22 school year is fast approaching, and we continue to prepare to safely reopen our schools for in-person learning. We want to make sure you are aware of upcoming opportunities to receive a COVID-19 vaccine during registration at our nine comprehensive high schools.

Working with health partners, each of the nine high schools will hold one or more vaccination events on campus during registration. To see a full list of dates and locations for the clinics, please visit pps.net/covid-19vaccination. The clinics are open to students and their family members ages 12 and older. Appointments are not necessary. Students ages 12 to 14 will need consent from a parent or guardian.

We are grateful to our partners that are making these clinics possible: Providence Health, Costco Pharmacy, Oregon Health & Science University, Portland Fire & Rescue, and Medical Teams International.

Vaccinations remain the most powerful tool to curb the spread of COVID-19. On Wednesday, we announced that we are requiring that all PPS employees at all sites be vaccinated. We urge all of you to please get vaccinated if you are eligible and have not yet done so.

If you have any questions about vaccinations, please email vaccine@pps.net. To learn more about the steps we are taking to keep students and staff safe as we start the school year, including requiring all students and staff to wear a face mask while indoors in PPS buildings, please visit our Back to School 2021 website.

Enjoy the rest of the summer, and please stay safe.
