End of Year Family Bulletin
Dear Kelly Families,
I think we can all honestly say that no one anticipated a school year quite like the one we all experienced! I am so proud of the way our entire community-teachers, families, counselors, support staff, and SUN staff, worked together to support Kelly students and their learning. We don’t yet have a lot of answers about the fall so you should continue to check for updates through the summer. We should get a new principal announcement soon. We will also update you as soon as we know what school will look like when we return in the fall. I am so grateful to have spent the last five years as the principal of Kelly and I know that the Kelly community will continue to work together to grow and thrive!
Summer Learning Resources from Kelly Teachers
Our Kelly teachers have put together a list of the essential skills that were taught prior to distance learning by program and grade. We have also included ideas of ways that families can continue to support learning through the summer. The educational apps that your child used to support distance learning will also be available throughout the summer.

Black Lives Matter
As we continue to face this health crisis together, we must also stand together to face racism and violence that harms the Black community. As a district we hold racial equity and social justice as one of our core values. Although our students at Kelly are young, they are probably far more aware of issues of race than we realize. There are resources here for white families who are seeking to be better antiracist allies as well as for families of color who are impacted by racism. Talking to our kids about becoming anti-racist leaders is a responsibility that we all collectively share so that our children can help to bring about a more racially just and non-violent world.
We cannot wait to meet you! If you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 1, please register for kindergarten! The process takes 20-30 minutes and school staff will follow up with you later in the summer. With schools closed, online registration is the easiest option, but paper registration packets are available at meal sites through June 10.You don’t need to register if your child attends a PPS Head Start or Pre-Kindergarten program. Also, if your child has an IEP, you will need to register using the paper option. Click here to register your student for the 2020-21 school year
You can find additional resources and support for your child’s transition to Kindergarten here.
