My Voice: Semeredin Kundin from Lincoln

MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED: HAROLD WILLIAMS, JEFFERSON: HIGH SCHOOL, 1961
Harold Williams was a civic leader and community builder who worked indefatigably for decades on civil rights issues throughout Oregon, including a stint as Affirmative Action Director and Equal Opportunity Coordinator under Gov. Bob Straub. During his 20-years on the Portland Community College Board of Directors, Williams advocated for expansion to North Portland, led mentorship programs connecting the college to Jefferson students and pushed policies to ensure PCC construction contracts would meet minority-contracting goals. Williams’ daughter, Natasha Butler, will be principal of Harriet Tubman Middle School when it opens in 2018-19.
