Track and Field Triumphs:5/20/2019
More exciting results from day 2 of the PIL Varsity Track meet on Friday 5/17! Congratulations to sophomore Colin Quinn, who placed first with a PR (personal record) in the 400 meter and second in the 200 meter race. Additionally, senior Gus Harquail took second place in the 800 meters with a new PR! Senior Rosie Folger-Vent placed 2nd in the triple jump, after winning the high jump last Wednesday. Rosie’s main event, the pole vault, was outstanding! She placed first at a height of 12’7” –not only did this beat her previous PR by 5 inches, it is a new PIL AND OREGON STATE RECORD! It surpassed the previous state record by 4 inches! Way to go Rosie!
Colin, Gus, and Rosie will join Lily Rupp at the state tournament, which begins on Friday at Mt. Hood Community College. We are so proud of all our Senators!
