Introducing new principal at Madison, Adam Skyles7/30/2019
Dear Madison Community,I am pleased to announce that Adam Skyles will be the new principal at Madison High School. Adam will be a familiar face to most of you, having been at Madison since 2010, including the last four years as vice principal, and he gives us continuity as Madison enters a major transition period.
Adam will succeed Petra Callin, who was Madison principal the last nine years. We thank Petra for her service and dedication to our students.
Madison is about to relocate for two years to the Marshall High School location as Madison’s 64-year-old campus undergoes construction that will turn it into a fully modernized building. Adam’s familiarity with the school’s culture and uniquely diverse student body, as well as his involvement in the modernization planning, will be invaluable as he leads the transition through the temporary relocation and move back into the new campus in 2021.
Adam started at Madison as a teacher and coach, leading the Senators football program as head coach until 2014, when he became dean of students and athletic director. He was promoted to vice principal in 2015.
He offers a variety of skills, including data-informed decision-making, team building and vertical and horizontal curricular alignment. Adam is adept at pulling in student, staff and community voices into school-wide systems and in creating a positive climate.
Adam earned a Bachelor of Education from Concordia University, and a Master of Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Please join me in congratulating Adam on becoming Principal Skyles.
