Dear Madison Families,

Over the next few weeks and months, we will start bringing in small groups of students to provide support in person and in the building. We call this Limited In-Person Instruction or LIPI for short. The goal of our initial LIPI is to provide academic support to students struggling with distance learning and failing several classes. Our first group of students will be less than 20 (two classes of 10 or less) and they will come in for 2-4 hours per week in the afternoon. LIPI is optional for students and voluntary for staff. During LIPI all students will continue to access their current online courses and schedule getting support from their LIPI staff members.

We know that coming back to in-person school and seeing students is exciting, and it also can be nerve-wracking for students, families, and staff. Our goal by starting small is to ensure we are doing all we can to reduce any risk, have every recommended safety protocol in place, and support students who need it. We will start small and slowly add more students focusing on students needing academic support and adding opportunities for students in hands-on courses (Construction, etc) as well as some socio-emotional learning support.

We will be working with families who qualify for limited in person directly. We will send more information about LIPI at Madison on Tuesday, January 26th. A survey of the community’s interest in LIPI will be sent out soon.

MHS will be holding LIPI Question and Answer sessions for the entire community:

• English: January 26th - 6:00 - 7:00 pm

• Spanish: January 26th - 7:00-8:00 pm

• Vietnamese: January 28th - 6:00 - 7:00 pm

• African American: January 28th - 7:00 - 8:00 pm

• Somali: February 2nd - 6:00 - 7:00pm

• Native American: February 2nd - 7:00 - 8:00 pm

Estimadas familias de Madison,

Durante las próximas semanas y meses, comenzaremos a traer pequeños grupos de estudiantes para brindar apoyo en persona y en el edificio. A esto lo llamamos instrucción limitada en persona o LIPI para abreviar. El objetivo de nuestro LIPI inicial es brindar apoyo académico a los estudiantes que luchan con el aprendizaje a distancia y que fallan en varias clases. Nuestro primer grupo de estudiantes será menos de 20 (dos clases de 10 o menos) y vendrán de 2 a 4 horas por semana por la tarde. LIPI es opcional para los estudiantes y voluntario para el personal. Durante LIPI, todos los estudiantes continuarán accediendo a sus cursos y horarios en línea actuales y recibirán apoyo de su miembro del personal de LIPI.

Trabajaremos directamente con las familias que califiquen para una limitación en persona. Enviaremos más información sobre LIPI a Madison el martes 26 de enero. Pronto se enviará una encuesta sobre el interés de la comunidad en LIPI.
