• Counselor Message

In uncertain times, it is understandable if you and/or your students feel a little (or a lot!) anxious. With constant news updates and social media posts, it's hard to not get caught up in the panic and keep perspective. Your child may have a lot of questions about what is going on and why they can't go to school or play with their friends. When you are overwhelmed by it all it can be hard to come up with the right answers. I’ve collected information from various sites that break down the coronavirus, social distancing and what to do instead of fighting with your kids about doing their homework. You can find everything I’ve pulled together here, https://mindfulcounselor.weebly.com/ under the tab ‘Coronaviurus Info for Kids’. I’ve also included a tab with free activities that you can do at home, including mindfulness activities and yoga classes. I will continue to update these tabs with information so check back often.
If you have additional questions or concerns, or your student would like to check in with me, please email me at sfuller1@pps.net and we can connect via phone, zoom, google hangouts or email.
If you need immediate support, please call the Multnomah County Crisis Line at (503)988-4888 (toll free 800-716-9769). They are available to help 24/7. Students can also connect to teen volunteers who are available through the Youth Line by calling (877)968.8491 or texting ’teen2teen’ to 839863.
    We are in this together.
