Hello, Marysville
My name is Hang Pham. I am a new addition part-time School Social Worker here at Marysville Woodmere. I have heard lots of good things about our school and our team. I am so lucky to be a part of the team. I am very excited and can’t wait to serve our students, families, and communities. I understand that my role as a social worker is to empower and advocate for students and families. I promise to serve the Marysville and Woodmere students and family with all of my skills, energy, and positivities. I also want to provide all of the necessary support/ tools/ resources to all of our students and community members including BIPOC populations. I find values in being culturally informed, understanding how social location comes into play with interactions, and will strive to use strengths-based approaches to practice. My strengths lie in working with immigrants and refugees, as well as people with mental health and intersecting social identities. I want to see our students and families get the services that they needed/ deserved in order to be successful including justice and equity.
A bit more about myself: I am an alumnus of Madison HS and finishing my MSW at PSU. I am an outdoor person and I am more on the extrovert side but easy to get emotion sometimes. I am a vegetarian. I like cooking. I think that is enough for now. I will save the rest and share it with you as we go this year. Oh, one more thing that I am bilingual. If you need help with any Vietnamese students, families or anything relates to the Vietnamese language or culture please don't hesitate to reach out. I am more than happy to support you if I don't know the answer, I will help you to find out. Again, it is my honor and privilege to be on board at Marysville and Woodmere this year.
