• Professional Educator and Administrator Appreciation Week

    Dear Colleagues,

    On April 19, the Board of Education unanimously and enthusiastically approved Resolution 6478 recognizing our professional educators and administrators and declaring May 2-6, 2022 as Professional Educator and Administrator Appreciation Week at Portland Public Schools. 

    As we kick off the week, I want to express my appreciation for who you are, and for your contribution to making our schools welcoming places. Thank you for cultivating positive relationships, for engaging students and families with empathy, and for continuing to foster high expectations so that every student becomes a compassionate and critical thinker, prepared to lead a better world.

    Each year, we also recognize, congratulate and extend our thanks to educators who have reached a major milestone of service to the students and families of PPS. Your dedication and service to the Portland community are deeply appreciated–thank you.
