Dear Sunnyside Community,Each fall & winter season, Sunnyside engages in a community-wide event called The Circle of Giving. Families are invited to participate as receivers or givers, creating a system of support through the seasons and holidays.
Like many communities across the nation during this pandemic, Sunnyside has an increased number of families in need. It’s heartbreaking to hear stories from our neighbors who just want to have some semblance of normalcy during this season.
Many of you have reached out, asking how to help. Here’s how:
This year, to practice safe social distancing, the Circle of Giving will operate as a gift card based donation/request system. Please consider supporting this tradition by donating what you can to @SESCOVIDFund-2020. Please make a note in the Venmo donation to read “Circle of Giving”.
If you’d like to receive, families can fill out this Circle of Giving Request Form to select which gift cards would be most helpful to their family. Requests can be made until Friday, December 4th.
As always, we handle giving and receiving with discretion and all names remain confidential.
Thank you so much for your generosity, kindness and support of one another.
With love and gratitude,
Amy and Alix, SES AdministratorsUpcoming Dates (NEW)

This year, to practice safe social distancing, the Circle of Giving will operate as a gift card based donation/request system. Families can fill out this CIRCLE OF GIVING REQUEST FORM to select which gift cards would be most helpful to their family. Requests can be made until the end of this weekend. Gift cards will be mailed next week so that they arrive before winter break begins. We will do our best to accommodate wishes based on the number of requests and donations received. Donations can be made to @SESCOVIDFund-2020.This is an annual event for us. We handle giving with discretion and all names remain confidential. Our goal is to assist families who would otherwise have difficulty during this season. For additional resources or information, please reach out to our counseling team: Rebecca Johnson - rjohnson10@pps.net and Ashley Bevan - abevan@pps.net.
Update Student Information (phone, address, etc) (NEW)
This year PPS has introduced a new system for updating student information like phone numbers, parent email addresses, emergency contact lists, and home address. Parents/Guardians can now update student info by signing into their ParentVUE account and selecting Yearly Verification. It is important that student information stays as up to date as possible. If you make any changes to your email address, be sure to reach out to your Classroom Family Rep (CFR) so that they can make the update on their email distribution list as well.
If you are a brand new family to the PPS district and still need a ParentVUE activation code, please contact our school secretary Sarah at sconley1@pps.netPlease note: after submitting address updates, you will need to email a form of address verification to sconley1@pps.net so our school secretary can upload it to student records.
Library Book Bags Resuming Fridays (NEW)
Library book bags will resume on a limited basis starting this Friday. In an effort to limit the spread of germs, we will only offer book bags on Fridays from 9:30am-12pm and 3:30-5:30pm until Winter break begins. This gives the books a longer time to quarantine, keeping everyone safe! Please be sure to wear a mask and social distance when you come for books. Remember that kids can also put holds on specific books using the library website link to the Catalog (with how-to video linked below the catalog button). Keep safe, everyone.
