School News (NEW)
Dear Sunnyside Community,I know it's another short week! I hope everyone has settled into this chilly fall weather and I know we've all been enjoying the sun these last few days. Please enjoy this long weekend and make sure to sign up for conferences with your students’ teachers if you haven't already. We really appreciate the thoughtfulness and support of this community and if you do have time to volunteer, we welcome volunteers during lunch and recess anytime! As 2nd quarter rolls into motion, please ask your student what they are learning and enjoying in school each day so you can hear about all of the magic that we get to see in action every day as we walk through classes.
Happy fall into winter,
Eryn & AlixUpcoming Dates

The 2022-2023 SES Circle of Giving
Families interested in receiving help this holiday season are invited to participate in our annual holiday program, the SES Circle of Giving. Through the Circle of Giving families can request specific gifts they would like for their children, as well as assistance with a holiday meal. If you are interested, please fill out the form here. There are also hard copies of this form located in the main office. Hard copy forms can be dropped off in the main office or given to your student's teacher.
All submissions must be received by Friday, December 2nd. Gifts will be delivered on Thursday and Friday, December 15th and 16th, or can be picked up in the SES office on those dates.
This is an annual event for us. We handle gift giving with discretion and all names remain confidential. Our goal is to assist families who would otherwise have difficulty during this holiday season.

November is Native American Heritage Month
This month marks Native American Heritage Month, in which we honor the ancestry and traditions of Native Americans. The month is a time to celebrate and acknowledge the important contributions of Native people, as well as to educate and raise awareness about the unique challenges Native people have and still face and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges. Learn more here.Lice
There have been some small clusters of lice outbreaks at school the past few weeks. Below, please find materials to help you know what to look for and how to respond if lice ends up in your home.Wanted: Eating utensils for the cafeteria
Have extra forks, knives, and spoons? Donate them to the cafeteria! Bring them in and give them to Christina (in the cafeteria). Thank you.Reminder: Clean, dry athletic shoes for PE
Please send an extra pair of clean, dry athletic shoes with students to store at school for PE. We’re seeing a lot of students wearing rain boots or soaking wet athletic shoes. Thank you. It’s Chromebook check-in time
Part of Chromebook care requires district updates and student Chromebook accountability check-ins. These check-ins will happen before November fall break, December winter break, March spring break, before MS overnights in May, and, finally, one week before school ends. Please remind your students to return their Chromebooks back to their core classes Thursday November 17th. Students may use them in classes on the 18th, but all should be returned to core classes before leaving for break. PPS will email parents and students whose Chromebooks have not been returned. Thank you for your time and help!
Note: If you have old devices (Chromebooks, chargers, WiFi units, tablets, etc.), they can be returned to the office at any time. Be sure to label who they are from, so missing items can be removed from your student’s account.
