    Happy Spring Break Sunnyside Community,

    Even though it was snowing this morning, I hope that we have some brighter skies ahead as we move forward into spring.

    We are really looking forward to all the many events that are right around the corner and we hope that everyone has a chance to breathe and relax over the next week. Thank you for all you do to make our community wonderful!

    5th Grade Afterschool Pickup (NEW)
    Dear SES 5th grade families,

    Please remember to wait on the sidewalk (just off school grounds) until the 3 pm bell rings, to allow the fifth graders space and time for a last-minute break, and eliminates the need for teachers and staff to stop and check IDs. Thank you!

     

    Middle School dance: Friday, April 14, 6:30-8:30pm (NEW)
    Our middle school spring dance is coming up on Friday, April 14 from 6:30-8:30 pm. For the dance to happen, we will need chaperones! Sign up here to chaperone or bring snacks. (Chaperones must have active volunteer background checks.)

    The dance starts promptly at 6:30 and ends at 8:30—please make sure students have plans to arrive and leave at these precise times. Permission slips will come home a few days before the event. We request a $5 donation to cover the cost of the dance, but no child will be turned away for lack of funds.

     

    Weather-Related Make-Up Day Added to Calendar
    Due to the inclement weather school closures in February, there will be 1 make-up day added to the 2022-23 school year. Wednesday, June 14 will now be the last day of school for Pre-Kindergarten - 11th Grade.

     

    Join us at the SES Westwind Family Camp Weekend! (Spaces are going fast!)
    SES Family Camp at Camp Westwind registration is open!

    When: April 7 - 9, 2023
    Cost: $110 / person includes food and heated cabin lodging at Camp Westwind, a beautiful forest camp located on the coast just north of Lincoln City. Camp is open to all Sunnyside families, staff, alumni, friends and family. Registration is first come, first served.

    We are also looking for volunteer help! People with first aid certifications, help plan our weekend, and who are willing to help promote the weekend, especially among the K-5 families, are most welcome to join in the planning! Sign up today!
