    Hello wonderful Vestal community-

This week feels  like we are in full swing! We have all of out students, Kindergarten through 5th grade here every day all day!

     A few notes-

    • Today, we had out first fire drill and the students did an exceptional job! You may want to ask your child about the drill...it can be scary for our youngest students and it is certainly loud!

    • SITE Council- Every school in PPS has a SITE council. This is a group of teacher, parents, and admin who meet once/month throughout the year to discuss Vestal's goals and vision. If you are interested in being on our SITE council, please email me. Our first meeting will be Oct. 11th from 2:30- 3:30. We’d LOVE to have you join us!

    • YARD SIGNS will be available Friday afternoon! Please come take one from the grassy area by the front door! WE’d love to have them all throughout the neighborhood!

    • TECHNOLOGY- After some new information from the district, we are now requesting that all students bring back the technology you used during last school year. Please return the computer and charger to your classroom teacher any day next week!

    • We use our Facebook page for great pictures and reminders of big events. Starting NOW the facebook page will be marked private and you will need permission to access. Please request permission!

    • Every Friday is Vestal Spirit Day! Wear your Vestal colors, tshirt, hat, or any clothes will social justice messages!

    NOTES from our Specialists!

Each week, a different specialist teacher (PE, ART, MUSIC, and LIBRARY) will have a note  in Community News. This week...it is PE!

    This week in Physical Education:

Hello amazing Vestal Families. This week in physical education we are starting the special superstars awards program where each class can earn a popsicle party for being a safe, kind learner while participating in their special areas classes. Ask your student to fill you in as they have been introduced to the new program.

In Physical Education we have hit the ground running learning our daily warm up routine and progressing to playing a socially distanced game called extreme rock, paper, scissors. It is so great to see your students back in the gym. This game focuses on getting to know one another while we use different movement patterns to navigate a game board. Hand sanitizer as well as breathing zones and spots for a water break have been safely set up throughout the gym. Keeping your child safe is our number one priority. Be on the lookout for a spotlight each week with a focus on Art next week. Thanks so much!
