See the photos below of the garden on the NE edge of campus to see the wonderful work done by our esteemed engineering teacher, Caitlin Toohey and her students. The primary intention of the project is to build community at IBW, with aspects of the garden eventually being integrated into a variety of subjects (biology, environmental science, climate change/justice, business management, shop, art, etc.). Leadership and AVID instructor, the most amazing Stephanie Satoorian was seen with some eager AVID students with shovels and rakes and other implements of hope.Jessica Wade, our career counselor, connected our students to Westside Watershed, a community partner that has been essential in helping turn the engineering students' ideas into reality. Westside Watershed helped our students connect with the Community Watershed Program Grant. The students applied and were awarded a $500 grant to spend on native plants at Bosky Dell Nursery. A big thank you to Abby Menashe who went to pick these plants up at the nursery on Saturday morning. Many thanks to everyone.
