From the Principal
Hello Woodstock Families,
Today, we were fortunate to host PE Teachers from China who are nationally recognized in their country for the innovative work they are doing with students. We were able to introduce the teachers at our Friday Morning Meeting and then have two of the PE Teachers lead our school in a morning stretch routine. Although it was a full house in the gym, it was a great way to start the day.
After our school wide assembly, the Chinse PE Teachers were able to visit classrooms, interact with students, and then observe a PE lesson taught by our own PE Teachers, Mrs. Krill and Ms. Austin.
After their observations, they were able to teach a lesson, in Mandarin, to our MIP 5th Grade classes and then return to the classrooms for student panel interviews in our MIP 3rd-5th Grade classes.
Overall, it was a great cultural exchange opportunity for our students, staff, and the PE Teachers from China.
I’m also really excited to share that we discovered this morning that the PTA had met their “No Stuff” Fundraiser Goal! Way to go Woodstock PTA! Although the goal has been met, the “No Stuff” Fundraiser is still open through today and families are still welcome to make donations through the PTA donation portal.
We are very thankful to all the families that have already contributed to our PTA and our school. THANK YOU!
Have a great weekend.
With Woodstock Pride,
Seth Johnson, Principal

Due to this year's schedule, the library is only open for student check-out during the 8:15-2:30 school day. All students have the opportunity to visit the library once a week with their class for check-out. If additional reading materials are needed, parents and/or students may request scheduling an extra visit via their classroom teacher and Mrs. Lingo.
Author Visit: Remy Lai
Woodstock is excited to welcome author Remy Lai on Monday, October 21st at 9:00 am. 3rd-5th graders will attend an assembly where she will be speaking to her new book, Pie in the Sky. Family members are also welcome to attend!
About the story:
When Jingwen moves to a new country, he feels like he’s landed on Mars. School is torture, making friends is impossible since he doesn’t speak English, and he's often stuck looking after his (extremely irritating) little brother, Yanghao. To distract himself from the loneliness, Jingwen daydreams about making all the cakes on the menu of Pie in the Sky, the bakery his father had planned to open before he unexpectedly passed away. The only problem is his mother has laid down one major rule: the brothers are not to use the oven while she's at work. As Jingwen and Yanghao bake elaborate cakes, they'll have to cook up elaborate excuses to keep the cake making a secret from Mama.
If you would like to order an autographed copy, here is the form to order.
PICCs of the week
We are excited to recognize our PICCs for this week. Our PICCs of the Week are students that went above and beyond to display Perseverance, Integrity, Compassion, and/or Curiousity.
Please see the group photo of the students from today’s morning meeting below:
Thanks for coming out to Walk + Roll to School Day on Wednesday!
We had about 20 walkers and 70 rollers who enjoyed a little party in the park before parading to school.
We will have more events, like a winter Walk + Roll Party and oodles of events (including visits from the Bike Fairy!) during May for Bike Month.
Do you need a bike light and/or lock? We’ve got them for you! There is a supply at the office, or contact Madi at email@example.com to arrange an alternate pickup.
