From the Principal
Hello Woodstock Families,
Although this was a short week, it was full of some great activities and student learning. First, I’d like to share some exciting news about one of our teachers, Mr. Steinke. Mr. Steinke was recently recognized as an Honor Winner for the Oregon Spirit Book Awards. The Oregon Spirit Book Awards are put on by the Oregon Council of Teachers of English. It was great to celebrate Mr. Steinke’s award at the Morning Meeting today.
After we were able to recognize Mr. Steinke, he introduced a Comic Book Contest for students at Woodstock. This is open to all students K-5. Your child should be bringing home some information today, but you can also find the details below.
Also coming home with your child today should be a flyer/invitation with information for the upcoming Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day on November 21. If you are planning on having a grandparent or special adult friend attend the event, there is time-sensitive information you’ll need to review in that flyer.
Please remember that conferences are just around the corner. If you have not scheduled an appointment with your child’s teacher, please be sure to do so soon! Again, you can find more information below. We also want to remind families that our Book Fair opens on Wednesday, November 20th. Details below.
Have a great weekend.
With Woodstock Pride,
Seth Johnson, Principal

PICCs of the week
We are excited to recognize our PICCs for this week. Our PICCs of the Week are students that went above and beyond to display Perseverance, Integrity, Compassion, and/or Curiousity.
Please see the group photo of the students from today’s morning meeting below:
In an effort to reduce classroom waste we are recycling markers and Ticonderoga pencils. We encourage you to send your used pencils and markers to school with your child to be recycled either in your child’s classroom or the art room. Thanks for making the world a little greener, every little bit counts!
